Fine clay from the Banas River.
Resin from the Dhonk Tree and local stone powder used in slurry.
Cow dung cakes used as fuel for firing.
Process:
Items are shaped with simple tools made from discarded objects.
Textured with intricate patterns, burnished, and dried.
Dipped in slurry, polished, and fired in a sealed kiln to create a smoky atmosphere.
Firing gives the pottery a unique blackish-grey finish.
Design Inspiration: Motifs inspired by the Trinetra Ganesh Temple and local flora & fauna, especially tigers.
